What Is Now Lifestyle?

Now Lifestyle is an MLM (Multi-Level Marketing) company that sells its own health, wellness, and fitness programs. in addition to their relevant business tools and memberships.

Of course, being an MLM company, they also have a business opportunity which allows you to work at home.

Headquartered in Texas, USA, the company was founded by Joel Therien on February 2017.

Founder and CEO Joel TherienJoel is definitely a serial online entrepreneur having generated over $250 million in sales. He’s a fitness guru and is also well-known in the MLM world.

Some of the companies he founded are:

And now this one…

But Now Lifestyle faces huge competitors. Health and wellness are one of the largest niches in the MLM industry. Herbalife, Isagenix, Team Beachbody and Advocare are just a few companies in this niche.

However, according to Now Lifestyle, they are not your typical health, wellness, and fitness company. Apparently, they focus on your mindset of thinking positive, self-affirmation, proper education, and exercise to suit your desired outcome.

When you join their membership, you’re surrounded with like-minded positive thinking people.

Inside Now Lifestyle – Products

1. Retail Products

They have their line of Exercise Gear such as their signature resistance bands, hoodies, t-shirts, women’s workout leggings, and caps.

How to Get Started With Now Lifestyle

To get started, the company offers you 2 memberships to choose from:

1. FREE Membership

I know this sounds great BUT there’s not much to this FREE membership.

After you sign in, you’re welcomed by Joel’s Welcome video which you must watch. You get a tour of their products and the gym where they do their video filming.

The gym has lots of equipment and geared more for people who really want to build up muscles and body shaping.

Joel goes on to talk about the benefits of working out at home.

At the end of the video, you can set up your profile and personal information and that’s it. This is all you get for the free membership.

If you’re serious about joining, you need to do the PAID Membership coming up next.

2. PAID Memberships

How To Get Started

If you want to take the company’s business offer, then you must pay $24.97 monthly for the Reseller Program. This gives you the right to promote the company’s products and its resources and tools.

Let me just tell you a bit about the Reseller Program:

This is your MLM business opportunity. You can earn as much as 100% commissions upfront (see Compensation Plan below) and earn a passive monthly income of 90%. The Program gives you the following:

  • Ability to generate free or paid traffic.

  • Marketing tools – lead capture pages, banners, ads for emails, funnel systems and more.

  • Live conference room where you can invite prospects to listen and ask questions.  The company does the selling for you and if they join during the session, you receive full commissions.

  • Listen to the bi-weekly live training where multi-millionaires help you get to the next level.

WAIT… you’re not done yet.

If you’re still interested, there’s no doubt in my mind, you will want to purchase their Business Automation and Autoresponder ($24.97 a month). This gives you access to everything you need to manage and market your business in addition, you can re-sell it and make commissions.

Now Lifestyle Compensation Plan

Now Lifestyle has 4 ways to make money (here’s a PDF by Joel that unveils everything about his Compensation Plan):

1. Direct Sales

You can earn 50% commissions on all your direct sales.

2. Matching Bonus

You can earn 50% matching bonus commissions on whatever your referrals (downline) earn.

3. Binary Residual

If you want to be making that long-term residual income (I’m sure you do), this is where you want to be. You can earn up to 90% commissions.

This involves you being at the top. You need to create 2 positions in your level 1. You have a team on the left side (referred as Left Leg) and a team on the right side (Right Leg)

Binary Compensation Plan

This means recruiting 2 people, one on the left leg and one on the right side. This is how you earn your residual commissions on the sales of the autoresponder $24.97 (I talked about earlier) from your downline.

4. Now Lifestyle University

The University has high-ticket courses like:

  • Email Marketing Mastery ($497)
  • Nowbody Certification ($2,997)
  • Now Lifestyle Seminar Retreat ($14,997)

These will be tougher to promote so when you sell these at retail prices, you make 50% commission and 5% from your downline sales.

There’s a catch!

There are 3 steps you need to take to qualify for these commissions.

Step 1: You need to keep a distributor.

Step 2: You need to recruit 2 people, one for the left leg and one for the right leg.

At least 1 member on each leg needs to remain active.

Step 3: You need to recruit at least one person a month, a maximum of 6 people. The good part is you don’t have to enrol 6 at once.

Example: Say you enrolled 3 people in 1 month, you’re set up for qualification for 3 months.

Another Catch…  All 6 must be active members. If one quits or becomes not active, you must replace that member within that month.

Here are 2 helpful videos that explain how Now Lifestyle’s Compensation Plan works.

Part 2 – The Binary Compensation Plan

What I Like About Now Lifestyle

1. Joel Therien Is a Real Person

This site is still quite new, but Joel has a total combined 18 years experience in online marketing and in the MLM industry. He also has 33 years of experience in personal training. He definitely has authority on health and wellness.

2. Real Testimonials

I checked Consumer Affairs and BBB and couldn’t find positive or negatives comments.

There are good testimonials (not many) on Now Lifestyle’s site.

Testimonials

3. Different Marketing Strategy

Even though Now Lifestyle is still MLM, the good part of their business opportunity is they don’t get you to make up that typical list of names.  Asking your friends and family members to come to house parties can be stressful and you don’t have to do any of this.

This company gives you different marketing strategies that are not typical of the MLM industry.  They incorporate their email autoresponder and lead capture system so you can generate more leads.

This means the people who are interested will come to you.

4. Compensation is Decent

Now Lifestyle’s Compensation is decent in my opinion compared to other MLM companies I’ve reviewed.

They offer 50% commissions on all your direct sales. You can make 50% commissions on your referrals earning and up to 90% on the Binary Plan.

How well the members are doing is unknown because the company is still relatively new.

What I Don’t like

1. No Income Disclosure Statement

Unfortunately, Now Lifestyle does not have an Income Disclosure Statement. Even though the company started February 2017, they should have a Statement for February 2019 showing how the members did in 2018.

It’s important for you to have access to the income information. You should have the right to know if members are really making money and how many made no money at all. You should know what the average payout to the members are and at what levels and so on.

2. Limited Use of Business Tools

The downside of Now Lifestyle’s tools is they can only be used to promote their company.

They have their own independent autoresponder ($24.95 month) and can only have up to 5,000 subscribers. I’m don’t know what happens to your email list when you leave. Can you take your list with you when you leave?

It’s important to be in control of your own business. Apparently, some members are using AWeber’s autoresponder instead of the company’s.

It’ll be worth your while to take a look at AWeber, MailChimp, and GetResponse.

The company has lead capture tools but they’re pretty basic. You might want to check out LeadPages and ClickFunnels which are a lot more sophisticated.

3. Holding Tank

Holding Tank

Honestly, this is the first time I’ve seen an MLM company do this.

Let me give you a quick explanation of the “holding tank”.

When people (referrals) sign up, your website (company gives you this) immediately places them into your “holding tank” for 36 hours.

Apparently, this is to give you time to determine what position you want to place your referrals.  This can be quite handy but that’s not the real purpose.

The real reason is you’re actually using your referrals in the holding tank to reach out to your prospects to let them know you have people who can go into their downline for free.

Clever in one way, BUT this technique could very well work against you. You just might end up with some referrals who don’t want to work very hard and expect you to find new recruits.

4. High Ticket Courses

Now Lifestyle University courses are very costly totalling $18,491. The courses are tougher to sell at these retail prices. Email course is $497, Nowbody Certification $2,997, and the Retreat is $14,997.

Is Now Lifestyle A Scam?

Now Lifestyle is not a scam. It’s not a pyramid scheme. The company sells health and wellness products that are helping people.

I do recommend this company. I believe you can make money because of their marketing system, how much? I don’t know because they don’t have an Income Disclosure Statement. They’re also not a typical hyped and beefed-up company like so many I reviewed.

A Better Way – How We Make Money Online

I did MLM 3 times, health, candles, and skincare products. They didn’t work out well for me even though I worked very hard.  The face to face selling, recruiting, and social media is not my thing so yes, I’m not a fan of MLM.

There are other ways to make money online.

If you’re really serious about having your own online business and want to make real money my #1 recommendation is the Affiliate Marketing business model. It’s the most popular way of making real passive income in the internet world.

But to do that, you need to learn how to do Affiliate Marketing and for that my #1 recommendation is Wealthy Affiliate’s training platform.

Why Affiliate Marketing and Wealthy Affiliate?

Here are some reasons:

  • You can promote any product(s) you like
  • There is no recruiting
  • You don’t need inventory
  • No experience is required

Want to see how some members of Wealthy Affiliate are making money?

First, let me warn you, like MLM, Affiliate Marketing and Wealthy Affiliate is not the shiny button that’s going to make you rich overnight. This requires hard work, perseverance, and the ability to never quit.

In fact, it could take you 6 months, a year, maybe 2 years or longer before you make any sustainable amount of money and this all depends on how hard you work on your online business.

Successful entrepreneurs whether they have a local business or an online business will always tell you, they work hard and make sacrifices in their personal lives to live their dream lifestyle.

  1. Hi Monica and thank you for this really thorough review

I have tried MLM and even though this is legitimate I feel as if it’s just another one of those businesses trying to get people involved and who normally wins with these MLM businesses? The people who started it are always the winners.

I prefer Affiliate Marketing because of your no.1 reason – You own your own business and you don’t have to pressure people into anything- The opposite to MLM

Yes, maybe they have good products but so many companies are popping up these days so good luck to them staying in the game

    • Hi Vicki,

You’re right, the owners are always the winners. Glad to hear you’re all for affiliate marketing.

I can’t get over how many new MLM companies are popping up.

      Thanks for your comment.

  2. Hello Monica, thanks for giving us an educative dose with the review of now lifestyle. Many mlm schemes make use of the health niche no doubt. This platform looks good by the way that they use the internet marketing strategy. I am not one to recommend mlm because I don’t really like them and I frown at the fact that this one doesn’t have an income statement. I think your recommendation will be a better option.

Yes, it’s unfortunate they don’t have an Income Disclosure Statement.

I’m glad to hear you like my recommendation and I hope to see you on the inside.

  3. Interesting review you have done concerning Now Lifestyle and I must say, a very good job done. However, I would like to chip in that the downside of this for me is just that they are an MLM business offer.

I hate getting involved with the MLM because of the limited chances of earning a worthy pay. By the way, I like the fact that they are legit and sell worthy products coupled with a creator who has done well and made millions through his business so, this awards credibility to them. I will share this out to more people and hopefully, I will see people who are interested in this MLM business. Great post.

    • Hello,

      I appreciate your comment.

One of the unfortunate sides of MLM is a lot of recruiting, always chasing after people. If people have knowledge of health and wellness products and are themselves staying fit, they could make sales for sure because they would be passionate about it. These are just tips to pass out when sharing this review. Thank you!!

  4. I am a health fanatic and looking for ways to make money online. I have been looking for MLM. Never heard of affiliate marketing until now. It seems MLM may not be the best way for me to make money. I don’t like recruiting because I’m not good at selling but I thought It would be my best option.  Thank you for this review and I will check your site out more.

    • Hi Francesca,

You’re welcome. I’m glad I was able to help you.

Affiliate marketing is the best way to make money online and you don’t have to recruit people. People will come to you.

Nice! I’ll see you on the inside!

  5. Hello, Monica and thanks for this review.

You know, I have never been part of an MLM but I have read plenty of reviews about them and The more I read the more I really don’t like them.  Some of them might not be scams but the thought of having to recruit people into something is, quite frankly, a little scary to me.

Even if you were able to get the required 6? there is no guarantee you will keep them and then you have to work harder to get a replacement.  You have the 6 and one quits just before the end of the month.  What happens to that monthly commission?  I think it’s gone.  Recruiting is not easy.

The other thing that concerns me is those “High Ticket Courses”.  That’s a lot of money to lay down all at once.  Is there some kind of payment plan for that $18,000 course?

I don’t know anything about Autoresponders (YET) so what happens when they reach that 5000 subscribers?  No one else can use it?  They should figure out how to increase that in order to keep people in one place.

It would be great if they had that income statement. It would certainly add some light to the legitimacy of this product.

Affiliate Marketing is, in my mind, a better way to go.  Partner that with the training provided by Wealthy Affiliate and a willingness to do the hard work and anyone can become successful and break away from the J O B and gain the freedom to spend more time with family or the things they would rather do.

Yes, it will take some time and commitment to the process.  I’m still working on that but, If I stick to it, I know it’s going to happen.  They have been around too long and there are many success stories which prove it’s authenticity.  I would encourage anyone looking to start their own Internet business to check out WA.  It’s free to start, free websites, some free training and nothing to lose by doing so.

MLM is not for me.  Sticking with AM and WA,

    Wayne

    • Hi Wayne,

Good to know you’re also a member of Wealthy Affiliate! I’ll follow you on the inside.

That’s why I don’t like MLMs. All that recruiting and compensation plans are complex and difficult to make passive income.

When you reach the 5,000 subscribers, you will have to pay more $$ to reach out to additional subscribers.

I’m a true believer of hard work. I was raised that way and rewards really do come.

Thank you for honest comment about Wealthy Affiliate and I wish you much success on your online business and training.
